It essentially means "without day," indicating that the session has concluded its business and there are no current plans to meet again. This can occur at the end of a legislative session, when all the business is completed, or when the body decides to adjourn indefinitely. The term is Latin, with "sine" meaning "without" and "die" meaning "day." It's a formal way to conclude the proceedings, leaving it open-ended as to when, or if, the assembly will reconvene.
